NeBeDeAgPol

NeBeDeAgPol is a working group of the heads of the police services in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine. Founded more than 50 years ago, it is a police initiative to enable trilateral cooperation within the Euregio Meuse-Rhine.

The signatories are:

• the Limburg police unit of the Dutch national police,
• the federal and local services of the Belgian police in the provinces of Liège and Limburg and in the German-speaking Community
• and the police authorities of the Aachen Region.

The working group promotes cross-border police cooperation on the basis of the Convention implementing the Schengen Agreement and the treaties deriving from it, with the aim of ensuring the safety of citizens in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine. Special attention is paid to the development of future models. In addition, cooperation between the border regions is to be stepped up. This involves language mediation, the establishment and support of structural measures, and cooperation with other organisations and institutions of Euregional cooperation, such as the EGTC Euregio Meuse-Rhine and the Bureau for Euregional Cooperation in Criminal Matters (BES).

The aim is to improve and foster cross-border police cooperation in the Euregio in order to ensure the safety of citizens.
