Euregio School
A label for schools with a Euregional dimension
The “Euregio School” label recognises schools in the border region that pay particular attention to a neighbouring language of the Euregio Meuse-Rhine (German, French or Dutch).
From primary level, the curriculum includes at least 45 minutes of teaching per week in a neighbouring language. Schools in the Euregio thus strive to bring pupils into contact with German, French or Dutch, and with their neighbours in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine, from an early age.
At secondary level, adapted conditions apply for obtaining the label.
The “Euregio School” label is a logical next step after obtaining the “Euregio Profile School” label.
Motivation
As with the Euregio Profile Schools, the EMR Education HUB has also set itself the goal of developing and intensifying the network of Euregio Schools. Pupils are actively encouraged to learn their neighbours’ language, so that multilingualism becomes a real asset for the Euregio Meuse-Rhine.
