Emile Roemer, Governor of the Dutch province of Limburg, has handed over the presidency of the EGTC Euregio Meuse-Rhine to Jos Lantmeeters, Governor of the Belgian province of Limburg, after a three-year term.
Michael Dejozé, Director since 2017, was attending his third change of presidency: “The Euregio Meuse-Rhine is more than a region on a map: it is an area where four million people work across borders.”
“I am proud of the way we have strengthened cooperation in the region,” said Emile Roemer. His successor underlined the significance of the moment: “I feel honoured to take over the presidency at a decisive stage, with the Einstein Telescope project in sight.”
The handover comes at a busy time, marked by the Einstein Telescope and the launch of the Small Project Fund.
