Grenzlandkonferenz 2025: four areas of work for the border region

The seventh Grenzlandkonferenz took place on 11 December 2025 at the Toon Hermans Theater in Sittard, in the Netherlands. The Euregio Meuse-Rhine was its co-host and co-organiser.
The conference brought together German and Dutch stakeholders from politics, public administration, business, research and civil society.
The discussions were structured around four areas:
- security and crisis management
- education and the labour market, in particular the cross-border recognition of qualifications
- innovation and research, centred on the Einstein Telescope project
- sustainability and active mobility.
A regional prize rewarded the we are pART of culture project for its commitment to cultural diversity. The meeting also refined the Grenzlandagenda 2025-2026.
