The Einstein Telescope Project Office is the central coordinating body and point of contact for preparing and developing the bid to locate the Einstein Telescope in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine (EMR). It brings together expertise from science, politics, business and civil society, and fosters close cross-border cooperation between the partners in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

In close collaboration with the Euregio Meuse-Rhine, the project office is working to position the region as a shared model region for cutting-edge research and innovation. The EMR supports the strategic networking of the participating local and regional authorities, strengthens political coordination across national borders and helps to anchor the project in the region. Through joint networking activities, citizens’ meetings and active citizen participation formats, the Einstein Telescope will become rooted in the region as a cross-border project for the future.

As a strategic interface, the project office

  • coordinates the bid process,
  • supports the funding programmes and
  • intensifies the dialogue with regional, national and European partners.

The aim is to establish the Einstein Telescope permanently as a flagship scientific project in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine and in Europe.
